Fast & secure login for your Trezor hardware wallet

Follow these clear steps to install Trezor Suite, connect your device, set a PIN, and access your accounts. This guide emphasizes safety and verifiable actions so you never expose your recovery seed or private keys.

Open Trezor.io/Start

Before you begin

Use a trusted desktop or laptop. Keep your recovery backup offline. Avoid public or shared computers for initial setup.

Step-by-step login & setup

1

Open the official setup page

Type trezor.io/start in your browser or click the official link. Verify the domain and HTTPS padlock. Bookmark it for future use; never follow unsolicited links asking you to sign in or provide seed words.

2

Download and install Trezor Suite

Get the desktop application from suite.trezor.io. Install for Windows, macOS, or Linux. Suite manages firmware updates, account setup, and transaction signing with your Trezor.

3

Connect your Trezor to your computer

Use the USB cable provided. Plug directly into a computer port — avoid hubs for firmware installation. The device will power on and show a welcome screen when connected.

4

Install or update firmware

Trezor Suite will prompt for firmware installation if needed. Firmware is cryptographically signed; accept only official updates shown in Suite. Do not disconnect the device during flashing.

5

Create or recover your wallet

Choose to create a new wallet (device will generate a recovery seed) or recover an existing one. Always write the seed on the supplied card or a metal backup — never store seeds digitally or online.

6

Set a PIN & optional passphrase

Set a device PIN for basic protection. For advanced security, enable an optional passphrase to create hidden wallets. Remember: lose the passphrase and you lose access to that hidden wallet.

7

Log into Trezor Suite and view accounts

After unlock, Suite displays your accounts and balances. You can receive funds, create transactions, and review history. Every send request must be approved on the physical device.

8

Always verify addresses on-device

When sending crypto, compare the address shown in Suite with the one displayed on your Trezor — confirm only on-device. This prevents malware from altering transaction recipients.

9

Log out & store backups

When finished, disconnect your device. Store recovery backups in secure locations and consider using multiple physical copies (e.g., one at home, one in a bank safe deposit box).

10

Keep software and firmware updated

Regularly update Trezor Suite and firmware via official prompts. Updates include security improvements and new features — install them only from official channels.

Important: Trezor will never request your recovery seed, full private keys, or PIN via email, chat, or phone. If someone asks for these, it is a scam.
